📖 Sizing Method (TI-S27-02-US)
Back pressure is calculated as BP = (D × 0.433) + C (ft of lift × 0.433 psi/ft + return line pressure). Capacity is then interpolated from the Spirax Sarco tabulated data across installation head (A), system pressure (E), and back pressure (C+D) for the selected motive steam pressure (B). Capacities are approximate — consult your Spirax Sarco representative for detailed sizing.
System Parameters
Measured from the bottom of the pump to the centerline of the condensate outlet. A greater head increases inlet pressure and may allow gravity (trapping) drainage.
Steam pressure available to power the APT (min. differential over back pressure required)
Gauge pressure in the condensate return system
Height from APT discharge to condensate return pipe
Heat exchanger full-load steam pressure
Maximum steam condensate rate from the heat exchanger
